With the evolving threat of terrorism at critical infrastructure facilities around the world, broad attention to safeguarding society and specific attention to protective measures have become imperative in maintaining the safe operation of energy facilities and other critical sectors. To address this need, EXCEL’s Critical Infrastructure Protection team is organized to address physical security, cyber security, and information security. The team is composed of senior former government officials and industry experts with long-term direct experience from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Defense, as well as holding senior management and executive positions in the energy industry.
EXCEL’s team has assisted clients in designing, implementing, and evaluating their critical infrastructure protection systems. The consulting services include effectiveness and efficiency reviews, preparation for oversight agencies’ inspection activities, performance tests to identify areas for improvement, and corrective action programs to remedy weaknesses and/or areas of noncompliance with relevant requirements.
With a team of cyber experts who have designed and tested computer systems, EXCEL’s team has assisted clients in identifying critical digital assets and establishing appropriate safeguards to protect the systems from unauthorized use. The cyber team brings decades of experience from all levels of government and industry, throughout the energy sector and national defense.
