Brian Meadors is an experienced nuclear lawyer, registered Professional Engineer (nuclear), and former United States Navy Nuclear Submarine Officer.
After the Navy, Brian earned his law degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University. After working as a nuclear attorney, Brian spent a decade as a jury trial lawyer in Arkansas, appearing in hundreds of cases before judges, juries, and administrative agencies.
When the Vogtle nuclear projects began, he joined Southern Company, leading a licensing team on the Vogtle 3 & 4 AP1000 new reactors. He represented Southern Company before the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, U.S. Department of Energy, and Congressional Staff.
After Southern Company, Brian served as General Electric’s nuclear regulatory counsel and employee concerns manager until joining NuScale Power as its Chief Licensing Engineer.
At NuScale, Brian took the lead on licensing innovation and strategies. He wrote and taught NuScale’s comprehensive training program for licensing engineers; the program includes licensing, writing, and advanced advocacy skills.
Brian is now part of EXCEL’s executive management team, acting as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Legislative Initiatives. Brian actively innovates new services, develops new product lines, and manages projects for both the existing fleet and new nuclear builds.
